DISTINCTIVE FEATURES OF UZBEK TRANSLATIONS OF CHILDREN'S ADVENTURE FANTASY PROSE
Based on the Translations of the Works of N. Nosov and A. Nekrasov
This monograph presents a comparative analysis of the original Russian texts of Nikolai Nosov's novellas The Merry Family (Vesyolaya Semeyka), Vitya Maleyev at School and at Home (Vitya Maleyev v shkole i doma), Kolya Sinitsyn's Diary (Dnevnik Koli Sinitsina), the fairy novels The Adventures of Dunno and His Friends (Priklyucheniya Neznayki i yego druzey) and Dunno in Sunny City (Neznayka v Solnechnom gorode), as well as Andrey Nekrasov's novella The Adventures of Captain Vrungel (Priklyucheniya kapitana Vrungelya), together with their Uzbek translations. The study focuses on how the author's artistic intention and literary craftsmanship are recreated in Uzbek translations of children's adventure fantasy prose. Particular attention is paid to the translation of "speaking" names, phraseological units, proverbs, and elements of national colouring, as well as to the reconstruction of fantasy elements and imaginative inventions in the Uzbek translations of Russian children's adventure fantasy literature.
